Description

1883-CC Ten Dollar, AU55
Partially Prooflike

1883-CC $10 AU55 PCGS. Variety 1-B. The 1883-CC ten boasts a mintage of only 12,000 pieces and is scarce in all grades. Mint State coins are extremely rare. This Choice AU representative matches the grade of the Smithsonian coin (graded by Garrett and Guth). The strike is sharp, and both sides show only slight high-point friction with minor handling marks in the fields. The protected portions of the fields display prooflike mirroring. This attractive condition rarity exhibits warm straw-gold patina. Population: 15 in 55, 17 finer (2/17).
