Description

Conditionally Rare 1883-CC Ten-Dollar, AU 55

1883-CC AU 55 PCGS. An important condition rarity among Carson City tens, it is very seldom that AU specimens of this issue are offered. The obverse has a peripheral ring of deep, copper-gold color (almost resembling the toning configuration on a silver coin) and the fields on both sides show a bright glimmer of reflectivity that really brings the coin to life. There are a couple of larger marks that could be used as identifiers for pedigree purposes: one is a heavy contact mark on the back of Liberty's neck, the other is a milling mark to the left of the CC on the reverse.
