Description

Eliasberg's MS63 1883-S Ten Dollar

1883-S $10 MS63 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Eliasberg. The 1883-S is an underappreciated scarcity with a mintage of just 38,000 pieces. This is a high-end example with dynamic cartwheel luster, lovely lime-green and orange toning, and an intricate strike. One small mark on the jaw and a tiny mint-made carbon spot at 10 o'clock deny an even finer third party assessment. Exceeded in grade only by the spectacular MS66 example from the Harry W. Bass, Jr. collection. Population: 6 in 63, 1 finer (1/13).
