Description

Impressive 1884 Liberty Head Ten, MS64

1884 $10 MS64 PCGS. CAC. From an initial mintage of 76,800 pieces, the 1884 Liberty Head eagle is an available date because of its presence in European hoards. While the date is easy to locate in lower Mint State grades, the issue is quite rare at the Choice level, and only a single specimen has been certified as a Gem by either of the leading grading services. The present coin is sharply struck, with fine detail on all devices. The surfaces are lustrous, with pleasing orange-gold centers and a touch of crimson at the borders. A few scattered handling marks define the grade. Population: 5 in 64, 1 finer (10/09).(Registry values: N2998)
