Description

1884-S Ten Dollar Gold, MS63
None Certified Finer

1884-S $10 MS63 PCGS. Neither PCGS nor NGC have certified an 1884-S eagle numerically finer than MS63 despite more than 20 years of grading, resubmissions, and crossovers. The population of MS63 examples is virtually unchanged over the past several years. This example -- if judged on eye appeal alone -- would step forward to the top of the class, thanks to its rich, apricot-gold color, lime-green accents, and full strike. The obverse shows very few abrasions of any kind, while the reverse is more normally abraded for the grade. Mint luster is outstanding. Population: 11 in 63, 0 finer (6/14).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 266C, PCGS# 8705, Greysheet# 9504)
