Description

1884-S Eagle, MS63
Tied For Finest Certified

1884-S $10 MS63 PCGS. As recently as a decade ago, the 1884-S eagle was a rare date in MS63. With the addition of a decent number of nice pieces into the market, it is now only "scarce." However, this issue remains unknown at PCGS above MS63. Only one PCGS MS63 has sold at public auction since April 2016 and it brought $2,880 at the ANA Auction (Stack's Bowers, 8/2018), lot 4266. Deep orange-gold color is seen across each side with a faint glimmer of green around the margins. Lightly abraded.
Ex: FUN Signature (1/2013), lot 7366, where it realized $5,581.
