Description

Resplendent 1888-O Eagle, MS63

1888-O $10 MS63 NGC. The 1888-O is relatively available in most grades compared to some of its earlier New Orleans Mint counterparts, and collectors can actually find low Mint State examples with little difficulty. Nonetheless, this issue becomes rare at the MS63 level, and it is virtually impossible to locate a finer example. Only one piece has been certified in a higher grade (MS64 PCGS) by either major service (8/09). Pleasing straw-gold patina embraces the semiprooflike surfaces of this remarkable specimen. Several wispy grazes do not detract. A sharply struck and conditionally scarce example.(Registry values: N2998)
