Description

Rare Uncirculated 1889 Ten Dollar

1889 $10 MS61 PCGS. CAC. The miserly mintage of 4,440 pieces is the lowest of any Philadelphia issue after 1877. Yet unlike the 1889 one dollar and three dollar, no numismatists of the day set aside examples of the 1889, and Mint State survivors are rare. This well struck eagle has attractive peach toning and the expected number of small field abrasions. Population: 10 in 61, 5 finer (6/10).(Registry values: N2998)
