Description

Very Rare 1889 Ten-Dollar

1889 MS 60 PCGS. A very scarce issue among the later date tens, explained in great part by the mintage of only 4,440 pieces. It is the rarest Philadelphia issue after 1877, and is very elusive in mint condition. This is a solid mint state coin that has bright, lustrous surfaces that are unfortunately peppered with numerous, small abrasions. The bright yellow-gold color of the coin is crowned by a splash of reddish patina over the head of Liberty. Population: 7 in 60, only 4 finer (7/95).
