Description

1890-CC Eagle, MS62
Semiprooflike Surfaces

1890-CC $10 MS62 PCGS. Variety 1-A. A frosted portrait of Liberty and semireflective fields give the obverse a decidedly prooflike appearance. The reverse shows a similar effect. These qualities are characteristic of a low-mintage issue like the 1890-CC ten dollar, struck to the extent of merely 17,500 pieces. Luster swirls over orange-gold surfaces tinged with elements of violet. A pinpoint-sharp strike and minimal abrasions add to the allure of this Uncirculated Carson City eagle. Population: 53 in 62 (1 in 62+), 7 finer (2/16).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 266S, PCGS# 8718, Greysheet# 9511)
