Description

1890-CC Eagle, MS63
Semiprooflike Surfaces

1890-CC $10 MS63 PCGS. A frosted portrait of Liberty and semireflective fields give the obverse of this Select 1890-CC Liberty eagle a decidedly prooflike appearance. The reverse shows a similar effect. These qualities are characteristic of a low-mintage issue like the 1890-CC ten, struck to the extent of merely 17,500 pieces. Luster swirls over orange-gold surfaces tinged with elements of violet. A pinpoint-sharp strike and minimal abrasions add to the allure of this Uncirculated Carson City eagle. This issue is occasionally seen in Mint State, but pieces grading as fine as the present coin are rare. Population: 7 in 63 (1 in 63+), 1 finer (6/16).(Registry values: N4719)
