Repunched Mintmark, FS-501
1891-CC/CC $10 FS-501 MS63 NGC. Variety 3-C. Both Cs in the
mintmark are repunched east. Unbroken luster sweeps the moderately
abraded apricot and sun-gold surfaces. A sharply struck
representative of this popular issue. More 1891-CC eagles have
survived in Mint State than all other Carson City issues of the
denomination combined, but nearly all of those are heavily
bagmarked from indifferent storage and shipment.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 266U, Variety PCGS# 145728, Base PCGS# 8720, Greysheet# 226298)
