Gold Cherrypickers' Variety

1891-CC/CC $10 FS-501 MS63 PCGS. Gold Cherrypickers' varieties are an underexplored and underappreciated area of the numismatic marketplace. This Select Mint State coin shows the second C in the mintmark boldly repunched and displaced by a considerable gap from the first punching. The Cherrypickers' authors put it succinctly: "Any CC mintmark variety is interesting." The lustrous, golden-orange surfaces of this piece show scattered light ticks amid excellent eye appeal.
