Description

1891-CC/CC Liberty Eagle, MS63
Repunched Mintmark

1891-CC/CC $10 FS-501 MS63 PCGS. Variety 4-C. This Cherrypickers' variety shows the mintmark repunched, most easily seen inside and to the right of the right-hand C. PCGS has not attributed a single example of the variety above MS63, and any Mint State coin is scarce. Even apart from the variety, the present Select 1891-CC ten is conditionally scarce, and finer pieces are rare. The strike is sharp, and each side displays vibrant, frosty mint luster. A few light surface marks do not detract. Population (all varieties included): 88 in 63 (3 in 63+), 4 finer (2/17).
