Description

1892-CC Ten Dollar, AU58
FS-801, Tripled Die Reverse

1892-CC $10 Tripled Die Reverse, FS-801, AU58 PCGS. Variety 1-A. The penultimate Carson City ten dollar issue is significantly scarcer than the 1891-CC. Only 40,000 pieces were struck, using two obverse dies and a single reverse die that exhibits die tripling on IN GOD WE TRUST. This peach-gold example retains considerable remaining luster and several scattered small copper-red alloy spots, as made. Smooth save for a few wispy vertical lines on the left obverse.
