1892-O Ten Dollar, MS63
Tied for Finest Certified

1892-O $10 MS63 PCGS. Variety 1. While the last hurrah of double eagle coinage at New Orleans occurred in 1879, ten dollar gold pieces were issued as late as 1906. The 1892-O boasts a limited mintage of 28,688 pieces, and examples are notably rare in MS63. This Select example is tied for the finest known, being one of only nine coins in this grade at PCGS and NGC combined (4/24). Vivid orange-gold hues adorn the luminous, satiny surfaces of this piece, while the design elements yield sharp definition. Light abrasions are as allowed by the grade, though a singular mark in the reverse field below TRUST is noted. Population: 8 in 63 (1 in 63+), 0 finer (4/24).(Registry values: N2998)
