Description

1892-S Ten Dollar, MS64
Exceedingly Rare in This Grade

1892-S $10 MS64 PCGS. The 1892-S eagle is available to a certain extent in lower Mint State grades, but the certified population plunges dramatically at the MS64 grade level where PCGS and NGC combined have only encapsulated four coins (three at PCGS and one at NGC), with just one PCGS MS65 coin finer (7/14). This lovely Choice example displays frosty hues of orange and green-gold toning, with razor-sharp design elements. Light, scattered abrasions on the obverse preclude a finer grade, though this coin hardly lacks, as it is only the second MS64 coin we have ever offered at auction.(Registry values: N2998)
