Description
1893-CC Liberty Ten, AU58
Low-Mintage Old West Issue
1893-CC $10 AU58 NGC. Winter 1-A. The 1891-CC ten dollar
mintage surpassed 100,000 pieces, and its 1892-CC successor has a
production of 40,000 pieces. But the final-year 1893-CC mintage was
just 14,000 pieces, possibly because coinage ended with the
inauguration of Grover Cleveland. This near-Mint peach-gold example
has bold definition and only minor field marks. The portrait
displays contact on the cheek, chin, and hair. Only one die
marriage is known for the issue, identified by a widely spaced
mintmark. The date is entered somewhat low and left. Census: 59 in
58, 21 finer (10/24).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2672, PCGS# 8726, Greysheet# 9516)
Weight: 16.72 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
