Astounding Premium Gem 1893-S Ten Dollar

1893-S $10 MS66 PCGS. Looking over Heritage auction records one is immediately taken back by the fact that no other 1893-S eagle has been sold above the MS63 grade level, an astounding three points less than the Premium Gem offered here. Further investigation into gold references and census data proves this inexplicable void to be no accident, only a handful of Choice or better examples are known to exist despite a total Mint State population in the hundreds. One glimpse at this meticulously preserved, satiny example is all it takes to recognize the coin's special qualities. The strike is razor sharp, surface marks are virtually non-existent, and both sides are accented in lovely blue and orange pastel shades. Population: 1 in 66, 1 finer (11/06).(Registry values: N1)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2674, PCGS# 8728)

    Weight: 16.72 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
