Description

1895 Liberty Eagle, MS65+
Tied for Finest at PCGS

1895 $10 MS65+ PCGS. CAC. The 1895 is a generic issue in grades through MS64, but it is rare in Gem with just two pieces in MS65 and two in MS65+ at PCGS (12/19). A solitary NGC MS67 is the finest coin known and it sold for $29,900 in July 2005. This piece is tied with one other as the finest 1895 eagle graded by PCGS and it would make an outstanding type coin for the collector seeking a single high-grade Liberty Head eagle to represent the With Motto design. This piece displays razor-sharp design elements set against frosty light reddish-gold surfaces that are devoid of bothersome abrasions.
Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2016), lot 5624; ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2016), lot 4316, where it realized $14,100.
