Description
1895 Eagle, Nicely Preserved MS65
Well-Struck Throughout
1895 $10 MS65 PCGS. The 1895 Liberty Head eagle issue ranges
from typical Mint State examples with heavy abrasions, usually MS60
or MS61, to some of the finest survivors of the Liberty Head type.
This Gem PCGS example is both amazingly well-struck and shows
incredible preservation, tied with two other submissions for finest
certified at PCGS. NGC reports two MS65 and two finer -- one each
in MS66 and MS67 (5/15). The surfaces on this piece range from
khaki-gold at the rims to yellow-gold on the central devices. The
few marks are minuscule. A small spot of deep toning or copper
alloy appears on the reverse above the eagle's left (facing)
wing.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2678, PCGS# 8732, Greysheet# 9416)
