Description

1896 Ten Dollar, MS64
Scarce Low-Mintage Issue

1896 $10 MS64 NGC. A meager mintage of 76,200 pieces confirms that the 1896 is much scarcer than the usual later Philadelphia issue. This well-struck representative displays frosty gold surfaces with hints of green-gold. Delicate die cracks appear on both sides, and the reverse field is clashed above the eagle's right shoulder. Census: 25 in 64, 1 finer (8/24).
