1896-S Liberty Eagle, MS62
Rare With CAC Seal
1896-S $10 MS62 NGC. CAC. The 1896-S is scarce in all
grades, although XF-AU examples can be found at modest premiums
above melt. Nice Uncirculated pieces are surprisingly rare. The
present coin has peach-gold fields and motifs. The margins are
apple-green. Sharply struck and lustrous with minor hairlines. The
reverse is lightly strike doubled. Encapsulated in a circa-2000
holder. Census: 11 in 62 (1 in 62+), 3 finer. CAC: 2 in 62, 1 finer
