Description
1897 Eagle, Fully Struck MS65
1897 $10 MS65 PCGS. This lovely Gem 1897 eagle hails from a mintage just slightly more than 1 million coins, but few survivors approach the quality evident here. Orange-gold surfaces host brilliant luster and a strike that appears full throughout. A tiny copper alloy spot occurs just before Liberty's chin. Insignificant contact marks are unworthy of further mention. Some interesting die cracks connect several of the peripheral elements on the obverse. Population: 8 in 65, 2 finer (12/13).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 267D, PCGS# 8737, Greysheet# 9418)
