Description

1897-O $10 MS62 PCGS. CAC. The 1897-O has a mintage of 42,500 pieces yet it is even scarcer than the 1893-O, of which 17,000 pieces were struck. As is the rule for New Orleans eagles from this era, the issue is available in abraded Mint State, but attractive pieces without heavy marks are hard to locate. This boldly struck and lustrous apricot-gold example should please the dedicated but budget-minded specialist. Population: 37 in 62, 34 finer (8/08).(Registry values: N1793)
