    1898 Ten Dollar, MS65
    Superb Eye Appeal

1898 $10 MS65 PCGS. The 1898 eagle is not nearly as plentiful as its high mintage of more than 800,000 coins would suggest. The typical Mint State example is heavily abraded, grading no finer than MS62; in MS63 the date's availability declines significantly, and the issue is genuinely rare at the Gem grade level. This example displays sharp design elements and frosty orange-gold luster. Abrasions are limited to just a few unobtrusive grazes, and the eye appeal is exceptional. Population: 9 in 65, 1 finer (10/14).(Registry values: N2998)
