Description

1899 Ten Dollar, Superb Gem
None Finer at Either Service

1899 $10 MS67 NGC. This late 19th century ten dollar issue has a generous mintage of more than 1.2 million pieces and examples in lesser Mint State grades are easy to find. The Superb Gem level, however, is a far different story: NGC has graded only four coins as MS67 and PCGS none, with zero finer at either service (5/15). Generous satiny luster has a distinct peach cast to it, particularly in the fields, while the devices and the fields immediately surrounding tend toward apricot and light gold. Intricately detailed and magnificently preserved, this is a coin to remember.(Registry values: N1)
