    Description

    1899-O Ten Dollar, MS62+
    High-End for the Issue

1899-O $10 MS62+ PCGS. Variety 1. This challenging New Orleans issue is a great rarity above MS62. This Plus-designated coin just misses that finer grade. The strike is sharp, and each side displays frosty green-gold luster imbued with glowing tinges of peach-orange in the fields. A small mark by Liberty's mouth is the only individually mentionable abrasion. Population: 52 in 62 (5 in 62+), 20 finer (11/16).(Registry values: N1793)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 267K, PCGS# 8743)

    Weight: 16.72 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper

With the superb catalog, a masterwork prepared by Mark Borckhardt, the sale was destined to meet all of my expectations; that it did, and then some. Be assured that I would highly recommend Heritage Auctions to any of my associates contemplating the sale
