1899-S $10 MS64 NGC. The 1899-S has a fairly high mintage and carries a minimal premium in lower Mint State grades. But Choice examples are undeniably rare, relative to later and lower mintage issues such as the 1903-S. The present piece has vibrant luster, a good strike, and a modicum of field marks. Census: 11 in 64, 7 finer (5/19).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2013), lot 5303, which realized $3,818.75.(Registry values: N4719)
