Description

MS63 1901-O Eagle, Unabraded and Well-Struck

1901-O $10 MS63 NGC. Variety 1. Of the eight possible O-mint eagle issues from 1900 to 1907, the New Orleans Mint managed to make actual coins in half of those years -- 1901-O, 1903-O, 1904-O, and 1906-O. The 1901-O production was the smallest of the four, at 72,041 coins, but it appears that a few New Orleanians saved examples. Examples today are available through the near-Gem level but seldom finer. This orange-gold Select specimen displays exuberant mint luster over well-struck surfaces that offer few singular marks and top-notch eye appeal. Census: 20 in 63, 8 finer (10/11).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 267R, PCGS# 8748)

Learn about consigning with us

What I most appreciated was how thorough you were when we initially met, how you were conservative in your estimates, not trying to get me to consign by giving false expectations, and then for delivering above and beyond on your commitment to me of a wonderful marketing campaign and a first rate catalog and photos, all of which resulted in a final total price realized that was nicely higher than what you had told me to expect.
