Description

1901-O $10 MS 63 PCGS. Sharply struck and very frosty with attractive, even orange-gold and pale greenish coloration. The obverse is very clean with just a few stray ticks visible in the fields. A small but noticeable reverse scrape is located below the eagle's right wing.
The 1901-O eagle becomes scarce in MS 63 and it is rare in any grade higher than this. The finest known is the fabulous Eliasberg: 824 coin, which has been graded MS 66 by both PCGS and NGC. After this, there is a group of approximately four or five pieces that grade MS 64.
From the Ronald W. Brown Acadiana Collection.
