Description
1901-S Eagle, MS64 Prooflike
Vibrantly Contrasted Surfaces
1901-S $10 MS64 Prooflike NGC. The 1901-S boasts the largest
S-Mint eagle production at just over 2.8 million pieces. While the
date as a whole is plentiful through Gem, Prooflike 1901-S examples
are scarce. This boldly struck MS64 Prooflike ten dollar displays
frosty devices on highly mirrored fields that yield outstanding
visual presentation. Marks on Liberty's cheek and forehead are
joined by some light field nicks to limit the grade. NGC reports
only one finer Prooflike example, and shows just one piece in Deep
Prooflike (3/26).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 267S, Variety PCGS# 88749, Base PCGS# 8749, Greysheet# 213560)
