1905 $10 MS67 PCGS....
Description
1905 Liberty Eagle, MS67
Registry Piece
1905 $10 MS67 PCGS. The 1905 issue is one of the more
plentiful of the tough dates for the 20th century Liberty eagle
series. In 1905, the Philadelphia Mint boasted a mintage of just
200,992 pieces and the date has a PCGS population of just 40
surviving examples seen above Choice Uncirculated. In the last
decade we've only handled two individual PCGS graded examples, with
the last one sold being in November as part of our Dallas
Signature, realizing a price of $22,200.This piece displays rich, vibrant orange-gold with a remarkable cartwheel effect that glints on its sides. Across the surfaces are just a few faint marks, though none worth particular mention, that would diminish this boldly struck coin's appeal. The example is at the zenith of its issue with no numerically finer coins and a single Plus example that would challenge this Registry coin. The current top PCGS Registry set features an MS66 for this date.(Registry values: N7079)
