Description

1906-D Eagle, MS66
One of the Finest Graded

1906-D $10 MS66 PCGS. This first-year issue from the new coining facility in Denver had a mintage of nearly 1 million pieces. It is relatively available to collectors in lower grades, becoming scarce any finer than MS62. Rare above MS65, this Premium Gem is one of the five highest-graded examples at the two services combined.

The deep orange-gold obverse toning becomes even deeper on the reverse, where it is intermingled with strong accents of rose. The surfaces are intensely lustrous, and marks are difficult to locate without the aid of a loupe on either side. Population: 3 in 66, 0 finer (3/14).(Registry values: N4719)
