Description

1907-D Ten Dollar, MS64
Rare Last-Year Date

1907-D $10 MS64 PCGS. The Denver Mint only produced the Liberty eagle in 1906 and 1907, with the latter being the last of the entire Liberty series, which typically piques interest in collectors. However, with just over one million coins minted, it is surprising that examples over MS64 are rare. Combined reporting from PCGS and NGC shows only 15 examples numerically finer than this piece with the highest grade at MS65+, and Heritage has only seen two MS65 examples in auction since 2006 (3/25). This Choice Gem is well struck with sharp details and vibrant orange-gold frosty surfaces that have dazzling eye appeal. Devices are well-defined and free of any noticeable imperfections, with lustrous fields that are only lightly abraded save for a notable mark underneath the eagle's left talon (right facing). Population: 84 in 64 (12 in 64+), 6 finer (3/25).(Registry values: N1793)
