    1843 $10 AU50 ANACS. Breen-6861. Breen-6861. Breen lists three die varieties of the 1843 in his 1988 Encyclopedia. The "Double Date" Breen-6860 is rare, and shows repunching well south of the 1 and 3 digits. The Normal Date Breen-6859 is about equally scarce as the "Triple Date" Breen-6861. The present piece shows little evidence of repunching but matches the date position for Breen-6861. It is a well-defined and typically abraded apricot-gold example.
    Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2009), lot 2867, which realized $1,092.50.
