    Description

1882-CC $10 -- Obverse Scratched -- NCS. AU Details. Variety 2-A. Production of Liberty eagles dropped to a meager 6,764 pieces at the Carson City Mint in 1882. Probably no more than 125-150 examples survive in all grades. This impressive specimen shows some of the usual softness on Liberty's hair, but little actual wear is evident. Aside from some pinscratches in the shape of an X in the lower obverse field, the pleasing orange-gold surfaces are lightly abraded and retain traces of prooflike reflectivity around the devices.
