Description
Sharply Detailed 1840-D Half Eagle
1840-D $5 Narrow Mill--Scratched, Cleaned--ANACS. AU Details, Net XF45. Variety 3-B. The Tall Mintmark variety, the mintmark has a more delicate outline and a wider opening than on its Small Mintmark counterpart. The surfaces have been obviously polished and a few marks and scratches are noted on each side.
