1840 Narrow Mill Half Eagle
1840-D AU 50. Narrow Mill. 21.78 mm. Scarce in all grades, but generally only available in VF or XF, this is undoubtedly one of finer pieces known. The surfaces display characteristic green-gold color and are well defined in most areas. A few small field marks are noticed on the obverse to the left of the portrait of Liberty, and on the reverse above the eagle's head.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25SG, PCGS# 8198, Greysheet# 8958)

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
