1840-O $5 AU58 PCGS. Variety 2. A well-struck Borderline Uncirculated example of the first New Orleans five dollar issue. The reverse exhibits a few delicate hair-thin marks, but the green-gold surfaces are less abraded overall than is usual for the grade. Peach-tinged luster fills the borders and devices. Population: 7 in 58, 8 finer (11/16).(Registry values: P6)
