Elusive MS62 1841 Half Eagle
1841 $5 MS62 PCGS. This exactingly struck No Motto half eagle has pleasing cartwheel luster across the obverse, while the reverse is moderately prooflike. The light honey-gold surfaces have numerous small abrasions, but the overall appearance is clean and attractive. A slender vertical die crack bisects the reverse. Only 15,833 pieces were struck, and Uncirculated survivors are rare. Population: 3 in 62, 10 finer (1/07).(Registry values: P6)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25SN, PCGS# 8202, Greysheet# 8885)
