1842-C $5 Large Date AU58 PCGS. Variety 5-C. This precisely struck and untoned Borderline Uncirculated C-mint gold coin has attractive, minimally abraded fields and devices. A slender retained lamination near the C in AMERICA is of mint origin. The Large Date and Small Date share a low mintage of 27,432 pieces.
