Description
1842-C Half Eagle, MS60
Conditionally Rare Large Date Coin
1842-C $5 Large Date MS60 NGC. Variety 1. The Large Date
1842-C half eagle is often overshadowed by the rarity of its Small
Date counterpart, although this issue is itself scarce in all
grades with likely fewer than 140 pieces known. Uncirculated
examples are major rarities. This piece displays sharp stars and
central devices with satiny green-gold luster. Light, scattered
abrasions determine the grade. Census: 5 in 60, 9 finer
