1842-C $5 Large Date VF35 PCGS. Variety 5-C. The only Large Date variety known. Subdued green-gold patina graces the surfaces, with pale orange accents around the devices. Both sides are lightly abraded, as typical for the grade, but there are no marks of any significance. Although not as rare as its Small Date counterpart, the 1842-C Large Date is a scarce issue in any grade with a mintage of just 23,589 pieces.(Registry values: P5)
