AU53 1842-D Half Eagle
Small Date Logotype
1842-D $5 Small Date AU53 NGC. Variety 8-E. A lightly
circulated representative of this elusive Dahlonega issue. Nicely
struck, and luster remnants are obvious, especially within the
legends. The yellow-gold fields display distributed small marks but
none are obtrusive. Encapsulated in a prior generation holder.Ex: Beverly-Hilton Sale (Kagin's, 1/1975), lot 188; W.R. Walling Collection (Stack's, 3/1996), lot 843.
