Description
1842-D Half Eagle, VF35
Small Date, Small Letters
1842-D $5 Small Date VF35 PCGS. Winter 7-E. Small Date,
Small Letters. This Dahlonega variety is fairly plentiful in
comparison to many other issues from this mint, making up about
three fourths of the surviving 1842-D population, but it is
conditionally scarce in high grade. The current example offers
pleasing orange-gold surfaces that are lightly abraded for the
grade. The design elements are all complete in outline and much
interior detail remains intact, despite the moderate, even wear on
both sides.(Registry values: P3)From The Bob Hastings Collection.
