Description
1843-C Half Eagle, Fine 12
Well-Preserved and Original, CAC
1843-C $5 Fine 12 PCGS. CAC. Winter-2. The Charlotte branch
mint struck 44,277 half eagles in 1843, but typical circulation has
left the issue with only 16 Mint State examples at PCGS (11/25).
This Fine example has original green-gold patina complemented with
delightful hues of apricot and lilac in the recesses and protected
areas. The design elements are clearly outlined with
grade-consistent wear. Remarkably, this CAC-endorsed piece has
eluded any significant abrasions and only exhibits light, blended
marks.(Registry values: P4)From The Bob Hastings Collection.
