Challenging MS62 1845 No Motto Five
1845 $5 MS62 NGC. As expected from the relatively large mintage (417,099 circulation strikes), the 1845 half eagle can be found with little difficulty below Mint State. NGC and PCGS have graded fewer than 80 Uncirculated pieces, none above MS64. The yellow-gold surfaces of this MS62 example display lightly abraded fields and sharply struck design elements.
