Description
1845-D $5 AU50 PCGS. The remaining luster is considerable although slightly subdued. The strike is very sharp for the Dahlonega Mint, as only the arrow feathers and right (facing) claw lack bold definition. There are no distracting abrasions on this scarce olive-gold example. The lowest horizontal shield line extends well into the left (facing) wing, as made. Struck from a clashed obverse die.(#8224) (Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25TC, PCGS# 8224, Greysheet# 8978)
Weight: 8.36 grams
