1845-D $5 AU55 NGC. Winter 13-H. The 1845-D is the second most common of the half eagle issues from the Dahlonega Mint and represents a popular type coin from the series. The present specimen displays deep ochre gold luster with a plethora of deeper carrot-gold tones. The coin is fairly well-struck, though there is a litany of minor abrasions and marks as usual.(Registry values: P2)
